Social Media & Community Manager

Working within the marketing team, alongside the creative executives, and reporting to the brand and e-commerce leads, you will plan, execute, manage and deliver best-in-class social media content, campaigns and community growth initiatives across our full social media landscape. Responsible for growing an engaged community through content, voice, and strategy.

Key Duties:

  • Design and deliver creative and engaging social media strategies, optimising content to further encourage community interaction and engagement.
  • Cultivate a vibrant and active community atmosphere through meaningful interactions and strategic engagement initiatives, always delivering our tone of voice and brand values.
  • Manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels and audiences, generating, editing and sharing engaging content alongside the graphic and creative team.
  • Develop, launch and manage new co-labs, competitions and campaigns.
  • Form key relationships with influencers across social media platforms, including developing the Jöttnar Pro team and its social media output.
  • Sourcing and curating content from the Pro Team and influencers/ambassadors, showcasing their genuine interactions with our products.
  • Briefing our Pro Team/influencers to ensure output is aligned with key objectives.
  • Undertake audience research and competitor analysis, identifying consumer trends to help with planning social media campaigns and the opportunities for large-scale brand visibility.
  • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions.
  • Alongside the e-comm team, monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and third-party software.
  • Set targets to increase brand awareness and increase customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Manage and track budgets for social media activities.
  • Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within Jöttnar.

Role Requirements:

  • 4+ years proven and demonstrable experience of success in a similar role, agency or client side, with hands on experience in daily content management for commercial brand/s.
  • Extensive understanding and experience of social media platforms, trends, algorithms and best practices.
  • An interest and active engagement in outdoor mountain sports will set you above other candidates.
  • You will be fluent, persuasive and articulate with excellent communication skills.
  • Well organised, resilient, and self-motivated.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Familiarity with digital editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) and able to set and hit deadlines.
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, enquiring, and energetic.

Remuneration, Benefits and Conditions

  • Annual salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE.
  • Company Pension.

  • 28 working days paid holiday per year, in addition to normal bank and public holidays.
  • Normal office hours are 9-5 but due to the nature of role, there will be open flexibility in your work schedule to align with the social/community engagement initiatives.

  • Our Cardiff office, just off the M4, is your formal place of work and is 10 mins from the city centre. Cardiff is the cultural, educational, political and international-sports capital of Wales. There is climbing, world class mountain biking, white water rafting, beaches and surfing a short distance from our office. The Brecon Beacons is 40 mins away. Bristol airport is within a 30 min drive.
