Merchandiser – Outdoor & Sports Clothing

Key Duties

You will assist in stock and intake strategising, as well as planning and forecasting to support business KPIs. You will be constantly reviewing trade, identifying opportunities and risk and driving inventory availability and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare reporting for weekly stock, sales, and intake trading review meetings.
• Review weekly sales performance and recommend short and medium-term replenishment actions.
• Working with the Head of Product, manage order placement and intake to ensure on time product launches.
• Effective inventory management. Managing both fast and slow-moving stock and making recommendations to the Marketing and Sales heads to move it through the business in the most profitable route possible.
• Accurately forecast new product launches to achieve the optimum margin, balanced with sell through whilst maintaining appropriate product availability.
• Proactively analysing sales data and trends and defining target cover levels, identifying high customer-demand products.
• Contribute to development of internal inventory management systems and build effective ways of cross-departmental working.

Role Requirements:

• Well organised, resilient and self-motivated.

• Management experience and strong ability to work as part of a team.
• Must have very strong IT skills – Excel proficient.
• Experience with Shopify Plus or similar e-comm platforms and their associated inventory management systems is a plus.
• Min 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Problem solver – seeing efficient ways through seemingly complex problems.
• Excellent commercial awareness.
• Ability to form good working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Strong communication skills – good verbal briefing ability.
• Ability to prioritize and structure work in a fast-paced environment, identifying and being comfortable with trade-offs where necessary.
• Highly numerate and analytical, competent working with large volumes of data, using this to make informed decisions.
• Positive attitude.

Remuneration, Benefits and Conditions

• Annual salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE.

• 28 working days paid holiday per year, in addition to normal bank and public holidays.
• 4 day working week, subject to business requirements, following your probationary period.

• Our Cardiff office, just off the M4, is your formal place of work and is 10 mins from the city centre. Cardiff is the cultural, educational, political and international-sports capital of Wales. There is climbing, world class mountain biking, white water rafting, beaches and surfing a short distance from our office. The Brecon Beacons is 40 mins away. Bristol airport is within a 30 min drive.
